Mike Rybas
Mike originally founded Cape Catamarans in Cape May, NJ in 2019 with the desire to design a superior lightweight tender for his own Crowther 47 catamaran. After several years rebuilding his catamaran and living aboard with his family, Mike realized that the average inflatable tender just didn't meet the needs and weight restrictions of his performance cat.
Having rebuilt the Crowther from the ground up, Mike knew better than anyone what a serious cruising multihull demands of its tender — and that no inflatable was going to deliver it. So he built his own. Over the following years he produced several of the original Wild Cat models as a custom, boutique operation in New Jersey. He continued to refine the Wild Cat with every hull that left the shop. That hands-on experience led him to partner with Andrew and together they redesigned the platform entirely. The new Cape Cat 115 improves on the original in both performance and construction while streamlining the build for more efficient manufacturing. In 2025, they moved operations to a Florida-based facility better suited to bringing Cape Catamarans to a wider audience.
As Manufacturing Director, Mike oversees every hull that leaves the shop, bringing the same obsession with weight, strength, and craftsmanship that started the whole thing back in 2019.
